The first reason we did this is that vests are a near perfect layer — more than a t-shirt but less than a big jacket, and with all the zippered pockets, they’re perfect for traveling. The second reason is that at some point power vests became a statement of environmental bona fides and politics. As for environmentalism — USA built stuff that never fails and won’t end up in a landfill is about as environmentally conscious as it gets. The warmth from this vest is undeniable, and the full zip closure works smoothly. However, the internal fleece lining sheds quite a bit, especially when worn over darker shirts, which is a bit disappointing. I was hoping for something I wouldn't have to lint-roll constantly.
I'm really impressed with how durable and cozy this vest feels. The fit is just right, and it adds that perfect amount of warmth for a crisp morning walk or layering under a lighter jacket. It's become my go-to for daily wear.
This vest is incredibly warm without being bulky. The ToughDry® material holds up well to light dampness, and the fleece lining feels so soft against the skin. All the zippered pockets are fantastic for keeping essentials secure while traveling, making it a very practical piece.
