Disappointing smell
I've been trying to air out this mat for days, but the strong rubber smell just won't go away. It makes my practice unenjoyable because of the odor. The grip seems fine, but the smell is a major drawback for me.
The eKO Lite mat delivers a textured natural grip that provides reliable traction in dry conditions, same as the original eKO in a slightly thinner, lighter profile. The closed-cell construction keeps moisture out for easy cleaning. The natural rubber foam layer offers soft cushioning that gently rebounds with movement, easing pressure on joints. Crafted in Taiwan from natural rubber with over 30% recycled content.

The mat's natural grip is effective, and the feel of the rubber is quite pleasant under hands and feet. I opted for the Purple, which is a nice shade. My only minor quibble is the initial strong rubber scent, but it dissipates.
I've tried a few different mats over the years, and this Manduka eKO Lite is definitely a standout. The textured grip truly prevents slipping, even when I'm sweating. I also appreciate the closed-cell construction, which makes it super easy to clean and keeps it from absorbing moisture like my old mat did. The natural rubber gives just the right amount of rebound for my joints, making my practice much more comfortable. I went with the Long 79" size and the Charcoal color, both are perfect.
Excellent grip and cushioning, though it is heavier than I initially thought.
Solid traction for my hot yoga classes, zero sliding. My old mat always had me adjusting.
