This lantern is a significant upgrade from my old battery-powered one. The 24-hour battery life and solar charging capability are game-changing. It’s also incredibly lightweight and bright for its size, perfect for inside the tent.
This little lantern is fantastic for both casual patio evenings and serious camping trips. The multiple color modes are a lot of fun, and the color-cycle mode creates a really relaxing atmosphere. It collapses down so small, making it incredibly easy to pack, and the fact that it's completely waterproof means no worries if it gets caught in a sudden downpour. Solar charging works efficiently.
The various colors are a nice touch for mood lighting, but the battery life has been hit or miss. Even after being in full sun all day, sometimes it only lasts a few hours, not the advertised 24. This makes it unreliable for longer uses, which is disappointing.
This lantern is perfect for backpacking. It's incredibly lightweight and folds down super flat, so it doesn't take up much room. The solar charging means one less cord to worry about while on the trail.
The colors are pretty and the light is nice for setting a mood, but it's not quite bright enough to be a primary light source for anything beyond a small area. Also, the USB-C port can be a little finicky to plug into sometimes. It serves its purpose for decorative light.
