My dog loves it
The irregular shape makes it very exciting for fetch with my energetic terrier.
The Gnawt-a-Stick™ is a floating rubber fetch toy inspired by Oregon coastal driftwood – a favorite find for beach-combing dogs in the Pacific Northwest. Made from natural latex rubber, this toy has a fun and engaging bounce on land because of its irregular shape and it stays afloat in water with an integrated foam core. Check out the Gnawt-a-Cone™ and Gnawt-a-Rock™ in our Gnawt-a-Toys Collection inspired by the natural surroundings in Ruffwear’s home of Bend, Oregon. Chew Style: Gentle Play Style: Fetch & Float Size: 1.5 in W x 11.8 in L (4 x 30 cm) Our toys are designed to be interactive – it's just more fun that way. While our toys suit a range of play styles, dogs can be crafty and determined chewers, so supervised play is recommended. This stick has been fantastic for our trips to the beach. Before, we’d always lose regular sticks in the waves, but this one consistently stays afloat, making fetch much more enjoyable for my dog. The natural latex rubber feels sturdy yet soft enough for his mouth, and he loves the Glacial Blue color. It’s definitely our new go-to water toy.
The toy has a great bounce and my dog enjoys fetching it. However, after only a few weeks, it’s already showing some significant wear from light chewing. It's listed as durable, but for a gentle chewer, it's not holding up as well as I hoped.
Our lab loves this stick; it always floats and is easy to see.
The stick is quite a bit smaller than I anticipated from the photos, even though I saw the dimensions. My larger dog loses interest quickly because it feels too small for him to comfortably carry. It’s probably better for smaller breeds.
