Share even more adventures with your canine sidekick with the Hitch Hiker™ Dog Backpack Carrier – a lightweight, technical dog carrier designed so dogs can hitch a ride when needed. The dual locking zippers create a wide opening for easy loading and unloading between trail time and backpack time. Once in the pack, the integrated harness keeps dogs secure and allows them to get comfortable and face forward to see the trail ahead. Cinch straps add extra security and keep dog close to your back when loaded. Air mesh side panels at the base boost air flow for temperature management. Use the external grab handle to lift and shoulder the pack. Once on, the pack distributes weight evenly for the human carrying the load, with padded shoulder straps, breathable back panel, adjustable torso length, and a supportive hipbelt for all-day comfort. Pockets on the hip belt give quick access to essentials like pick-up bags, treats, and most phones. Stash a soft flask, packable bowl, or extra layer in the external zippered stretch pocket at the base of the pack. Available in three sizes based off your dog’s girth measurement, and comfortably accommodates dogs up to 40 lbs. Hip belt fits waists 21-58" (53-149 cm).

My mini dachshund is energetic but can't keep up on longer walks. This carrier in Red Clay (size XSmall) is amazing. Loading her is simple, and she settles in quickly, often falling asleep. The air mesh definitely helps keep her from getting too warm against my back, even on sunny days. I feel confident she's secure with the integrated harness and cinch straps, and the weight distribution makes carrying her surprisingly comfortable.
I got the size Small for my 22lb Jack Russell, thinking it would be fine, but it's a tighter fit than I expected. He fits, but doesn't have a lot of room to shift around comfortably. The material and build are very sturdy, though.
My elderly chihuahua still loves to be out on adventures, but his legs don't always cooperate. This carrier lets him come along without tiring him out. The integrated harness keeps him perfectly secure, and he seems very comfortable in it.
Good quality backpack for my tiny dog, just wish it had a bit more storage.
My little terrier mix, a small 18lb guy, absolutely loves this carrier. We do a lot of trail hiking, and sometimes he just gets tired, so this is perfect for those last few miles. The integrated harness keeps him snug and secure, and the dual zippers make it easy to get him in and out quickly on the trail. The Basalt Gray color is nice and understated too. The air mesh panels seem to keep him comfortable, and I appreciate the even weight distribution on my back.
