Disappointing flavor
Very little flavor, much weaker than my usual store brand.
Grown by our beloved Kasaraneni family amidst marigolds, bananas, and black rice on their 3rd generation farm. Whilst Mr. Prabhu Kasaraneni’s family has been farming for three generations, he is a self-taught organic farmer who began growing heirloom Pragati turmeric in 2015, with assistance from the Indian Institute of Spice Research. This is the spice Sana started the company with! In search of an heirloom turmeric that was regeneratively grown as well as delicious, she was recommended to Mr. Prahbu Kasareneni by the Indian Institute of Spice Research. Prahbu was a young idealistic farmer, and the only one in his area to start growing regeneratively, which initially brought critique from nearby farmers, until they saw how well he was doing. Today, it is still one of our most well-loved spices, and for good reason —it's delicious!

Very little flavor, much weaker than my usual store brand.
I found this turmeric to be surprisingly mild. The 'slightly bitter, peppery' notes weren't really there for me, and it mostly just tasted earthy, lacking the punch I associate with quality turmeric. It didn't add much to my dishes compared to cheaper alternatives. I won't be buying this again.
The turmeric is fine and has a good color, but the flavor isn't as intensely vibrant as I anticipated given the description. It's a solid spice for general use, though it didn't quite 'wow' me for the price compared to some other single-origin spices I've tried. The tin is convenient though.
I sprinkle this on almost everything, from eggs to rice. The flavor is so much more intense and fresh than the generic turmeric I used to buy. It really adds a pop. The tin also looks good on the counter.
Fantastic aroma and powerful, earthy flavor for cooking.
