Excellent flavor and texture
The smooth, almost silky texture of these flakes is truly unique. They bring a wonderful warmth and a mild, bright tomato flavor to everything from roasted chicken to pasta dishes. It's a great pantry upgrade.
The Turkish variety of the Aleppo pepper, our summery Silk Chili was historically ground using heavy silk ropes, giving them a smooth, slippery texture. They have a warm, tomato-like flavor and a mild heat, similar to Espelette and Korean chilis. Also called marash pepper, these are great in any dish in need of a little excitement, from scrambled eggs to burgers to brownies. Our Silk Chili Flakes are naturally preserved with a little bit of salt and sunflower seed oil to keep them fresh and flavorful. P erfect for cooking or finishing. Silk Chili is botanically identical to the Aleppo pepper, which has been cultivated in Syria for centuries. Due to the ongoing violence of the Syrian civil war, true Aleppo chili is unfortunately no longer available for import. See how this compares to our other chilis.

I was looking for something to elevate my weeknight dinners, and these Silk Chili Flakes delivered. The aroma is inviting, and the flavor has a lovely warmth with a distinct tomato undertone. It's mild enough that my whole family enjoys it, even my picky eater. I've used it in everything from marinades to finishing a bowl of soup, and the texture is indeed very smooth. This 16 oz container will last a while.
These chili flakes have become a new staple in my kitchen. The flavor is warm and rich, with that lovely hint of tomato. It's fantastic sprinkled on grilled vegetables or even in a batch of brownies for a subtle kick.
These chili flakes are far too salty for my taste, it overwhelms the subtle chili flavor.
The flavor profile was much more salty than I anticipated, overpowering the supposed tomato notes.
