Superior spice
The quality of these cloves is evident from the moment you open the container. They smell incredible and the taste is unparalleled. Made a wonderful spiced pear tart with these.
Our Pemba Cloves are hand-picked by our partner farmers on the small island of Pemba, in the Zanzibar Archipelago, which is famous for its cloves. They have a bright, sweet intensity with a rich warmth and a numbing menthol buzz. They’re picked at the last possible moment before flowering, ensuring the largest size and most mature flavor. Bright pink when ripe, they turn brown as they dry in the tropical sun. Add whole to braised meats and mulled wine, or grind into desserts. Looking for ground cloves? We've got 'em here.

The numbing menthol buzz was much stronger than I expected and overpowered other flavors.
I use these whole cloves in my homemade curry pastes, and the flavor they impart is incredible. The menthol buzz adds a unique twist that I really appreciate. Very fresh.
These cloves definitely pack a punch with their bright, sweet intensity. They are much more potent than the standard cloves I've used in the past, which required a little adjustment in my recipes. A small amount goes a very long way, so be mindful when adding them to your dishes, especially desserts.
The flavor profile is incredibly bold and sweet. These whole buds are clearly premium quality and release their essence wonderfully in long simmers. Absolutely recommend for any serious cook.
