Decent, but not amazing
The flavor is okay, but I expected more of that tart cranberry taste mentioned. It's not bad, just not as distinctive as I hoped for compared to other specialty chilis. It works in a pinch for everyday cooking.
Bright, tangy and full of character, our heirloom Guajillo chili powder brings a vibrant balance of fiery heat with notes of tart cranberry and herbal green tea. Made from sun-ripened mirasol peppers grown in Guanajuato, Mexico by Don Jesús, these chilis are dried to preserve their lively fruitiness and warm, floral aroma. A favorite in salsas, adobos and marinades, this chef-approved, kitchen-ready chili delivers bold flavor that lifts everything from soups to spice rubs. See how this compares to our other chilis.

So much more vibrant than other brands.
This guajillo powder has a really nice, fresh flavor profile with good depth. It definitely adds a lot to my spice rubs. The only reason it's not five stars is I prefer a slightly coarser grind for certain applications.
I found this chili powder to be very bland and not at all what I expected from the description. There was no 'fiery heat' or 'lively fruitiness'. It didn't add much to my stew.
This chili powder makes my soups sing!
