Good flavor, adds a nice sweet and spicy kick to my iced tea and coffee.
This syrup has become a permanent fixture in my kitchen. I originally got it for coffee, where it's truly excellent, but it's quickly found its way into so many other things. I've tried it in various cocktails like old fashioneds and it just elevates them completely. Even tried a little in a vinaigrette for a salad, and it was surprisingly good. The sweet and spicy balance is just perfect, not too hot, not too mild.
I bought this for mixing cocktails, especially spicy mules and whiskey sours, and it’s been fantastic. The consistency is great for mixing, and it adds a complex layer of sweet heat that regular simple syrup can’t touch. The honey flavor really comes through, balancing the chili nicely. My friends always ask what my secret ingredient is when I use this.
The sweetness is there, but I find the vinegar flavor too prominent for many of the drinks I tried it in. It definitely changes the taste profile, but not always for the better with certain coffee applications. The spice level is fine, just wish it was smoother.
The flavor is excellent, sweet with a nice honey taste and a hint of warmth. I've used it in hot toddies and espresso martinis. It's not as spicy as the original Mike's Hot Honey, which is a minor letdown for those seeking a real kick.
