They provide good warmth and the material is soft enough. I'm finding them a bit delicate though; after only a few washes, I've noticed some minor pilling around the inner thighs. I followed the care instructions to machine wash cold and lay flat to dry.
Bought these for my husband who is 6'2". The quality of the merino wool is excellent and he finds them very warm. However, he mentioned that the length is a bit short for him, riding up slightly at the ankles.
These base layer bottoms are a huge improvement over my old synthetic ones. The merino wool is incredibly soft against the skin, no itching at all.
