I followed the care instructions exactly, machine washed cold and tumble dried low. Unfortunately, this blanket shrank quite a bit after the first wash, making it noticeably smaller than its original 50" x 70" dimensions. The softness is still there, but the size reduction is disappointing.
This throw is definitely soft and the Ink and Sky colors are lovely. It's a nice accent for my chair. While it's comfortable, it's not quite as thick or heavy as I expected for a rib knit throw.
