This headlamp is lightweight enough that it doesn't bounce around during my early morning runs. The different brightness settings are useful, especially the dimming feature for less intense light around the neighborhood. It's a noticeable upgrade from my old, heavier model.
The light output is certainly strong, and I like the memory feature that saves my last setting. However, figuring out how to quickly switch between all the modes and use PowerTap takes some practice. It's not as intuitive as I hoped, especially when wearing gloves.
My old headlamp finally gave out, so I picked up this Black Diamond. The IPX8 rating gave me peace of mind on a recent caving trip, and it performed flawlessly even in damp conditions. The 400 lumens really cut through the absolute darkness.
Got the Octane Orange one and it's fantastic. Used it during a recent camping trip where it rained pretty heavily, and the water resistance held up perfectly. The beam distance is impressive, lighting up trails far ahead.
