While the transfer speeds are good when it's cool, I've noticed the enclosure gets quite warm during sustained transfers, especially with my 4TB drive. The aluminum helps somewhat, but I wish there was more active cooling or a larger thermal pad provided. It doesn't seem to throttle, but the heat is a concern for long-term drive health. It's fine for short bursts, but extended use makes it uncomfortably hot to touch.

While the enclosure performs well for quick file transfers, it does tend to get quite warm when I'm moving very large datasets or running applications directly from it. The thermal pad helps a little, but the enclosure itself becomes hot. For casual use it's fine, but for heavy continuous workloads, it's noticeable. Speeds are good, though.
I purchased this for an older MacBook Pro thinking it would just work, but it needs a USB4 port. My laptop only has Thunderbolt 3, which isn't fully compatible for the stated speeds. I wish the compatibility was clearer on the product page. Now I have an enclosure that can't reach its full potential with my current setup.
