Good, but guide could be better
The puzzle is great for learning, though the included guide isn't always super clear.
Learn all the 50 states with this 51-piece USA Map Floor Puzzle. The completed 3 x 2 ft map shows each state with its name, capital, borders, and a themed illustration that highlights a regional feature or landmark. An illustrated guide is included to help kids match shapes, colors, and details as they assemble the map. As children sort and connect the pieces, they build spatial reasoning, fine motor control, and early geography knowledge. The large cardboard pieces wipe clean and are sized for easy handling, making this puzzle a helpful tool for school-age learning and screen-free play for kids ages 6 and up. We absolutely love this map puzzle! It's fantastic for hands-on learning, and both my 7 and 9-year-olds enjoy collaborating on it. The pieces are large, making them easy to manage, and the wipe-clean surface is a lifesaver for inevitable spills. It's become a regular educational activity during quiet time at home, fostering both fine motor skills and geography knowledge.
This puzzle is supposed to have 51 pieces, but the Hawaii piece was completely missing from the box when we opened it. It's frustrating to have an incomplete map, which defeats the whole learning purpose. We had to try and explain why one state wasn't there.
My granddaughter spends hours putting this together and talking about the different states and their unique features. The illustrations on each state are really helpful for sparking conversation and learning. It's a sturdy puzzle that stands up to repeated assembly and disassembly by little hands, which is a huge plus.
The map puzzle is vibrant and educational, making learning about states engaging for my two kids. However, a few of the pieces, especially around the edges, don't always interlock as smoothly as I'd like, requiring a bit more force for them to sit flush. Otherwise, it's a solid activity.
